As a Trustee for WEAll Scotland, Ruth brings over 20 years experience as a General Counsel and executive leader, having advised green energy, technology, and semiconductor companies across the globe.
Currently General Counsel at Hitachi ZeroCarbon, Ruth works at the intersection of law, governance, and climate solutions - supporting large commercial fleets in their transition to electric power. Her certifications in Sustainable Business Models and Circular Economy from the University of Glasgow and the Ellen MacArthur Foundation ground her governance expertise in the kind of rigorous economic thinking WEAll champions.
Ruth has held board roles as Chair of Hart Learning & Development and Governor at North Hertfordshire College, and brings first-hand experience of both the possibilities and the limitations of conventional corporate incentive structures. It is that lived perspective that drew her to wellbeing economics - and to Scotland, which she now calls home for its progressive, community-centred values.
Outside of work, Ruth enjoys cooking and spending time outdoors with family, friends and dogs.
